MULESHOE, TX (KCBD) -

The Muleshoe Police Department is investigating a Muleshoe High School teacher accused of having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a 14-year-old student.

The police report filed on April 27th says the police department received allegations against the teacher that suggested a relationship including touching and texting in a sexual manner.

After the investigation, the Muleshoe police handed over their information to the Bailey County District Attorney's Office with a suggested charge of improper relationship between an educator and student. It will be up to the Bailey County District Attorney's Office whether they will pursue those charges.

At this time the District Attorney says the teacher has not been charged, and has not been arrested.

Sources tell us the teacher was not fired, but that she no longer works for Muleshoe High School.
