I want to pause from the politics and pressures of the day and talk about something far more important: mothers.
It seems a little out of whack that sometimes we are too busy trying to be successful to take time to thank the person that is most responsible for that success.
Most mothers have the same 2 things in common: Unconditional love for their children and busy hands - hands that comforted us when we were down. Hands that washed our clothes, cooked our meals, drove us to soccer practice and so much more.
I love what comedian Milton Berle once said about mothers: "If evolution really works, how come mothers only have two hands?"
Funny, but it makes the point that mothers really do far more for their children than might seem possible to everyone else.
As we enter Mothers Day weekend and gather to celebrate with mom, take time to reflect on all she did and still does that affects your life everyday.
And remember to thank her every chance you get, not just once a year. Because no matter how old we get, she is our mom every day of our life.
