Remember that gum we told you about that was new on the market, with the same amount of caffeine in it as a half cup of coffee? It's gone.
The Wrigley Company is voluntarily taking it off store shelves, at least for now. It was marketed as an energy product for adults 25 and older, but in response to concerns from the FDA about the impact on kids and teens if they chew it, the Wrigley Company says it is temporarily stopping production and sales of its controversial new gum with caffeine.
Wrigley says it wants to give the government agency time to develop regulations on caffeine added to food and drinks before it considers re-introducing caffeine gum.
