National Weather Service confirms 2 Indiana tornado touchdowns

The National Weather Service has confirmed that two small tornadoes touched down in Vigo County as thunderstorms moved through the Terre Haute area. 

The weather service says both tornadoes carried winds of about 80 mph. The first occurred about five miles south of Terre Haute around 8:15 p.m. Thursday and damaged trees. A second tornado from the same storm touched down around 8:25 p.m. in Riley and destroyed a small shed. 

No injuries were reported.
