City of Tahoka issues warning about nitrates in tap water

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

The City of Tahoka has issued a warning about a high level of nitrates in their water.

If you're pregnant or have a child under the age of six months, you should drink an alternative water supply. Boiling the affected water is not an effective treatment for nitrate removal.

The city says most consumers are fine drinking the tap water but, if you are pregnant or have a child under 6 months, the city will provide bottle water.

Please call the Takoha Sheriff's Office for more information: 806-561-4505.
