LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

So far Lubbock has hit the 100 degree mark this afternoon - still shy of the record 101 but that could change.

The evening will be very warm with light winds and fair skies. Some showers may develop from Silverton east to Turkey during the next hour, but they will be very isolated.

The weekend will be hot but highs will stay in the 90s tomorrow and lower 90s on Sunday. Gusty winds are on the horizon for Saturday and Sunday.

The National Weather Service says Lubbock averages ten 100+ days each year.
