All this week, we've been focusing on depression and suicide prevention. We have a long list of resources on our website. But on our news at five today, we learned that Starcare, formerly known as MHMR, has a 24 hour crisis team available to come to you in an emergency.
"I think the most important thing we have for anybody in any kind of mental health crisis is our mobile crisis outreach team, we will go anywhere in a five county area, and we go and assess the person, it may only mean that we're going to talk to an individual, find out how they're feeling, but we are available," said Annette Gary who work for Starcare.
That means they can send someone to you to help you through this emergency.
The number to call for that crisis intervention is 740-1414. It is a free service in a 5 county area which includes Lubbock, Lynn, Cochran, Hale and Hockley.
