District Two City Councilman Floyd Price is inviting residents to a town hall meeting about the future of east Lubbock Tuesday evening. The meeting will introduce the East Lubbock Gateway Project that will be located along Avenue A between 17th and 23rd streets.

Eric Strong, the director of The Roots Historical Arts Council hopes the Gateway will help bring tourists to east Lubbock. According to Strong, it is also an opportunity for east Lubbock residents to show pride in their community.

Residents are encouraged to attend the meeting and share ideas about what they would like to see included in the Gateway Project.

The meeting starts at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Mae Simmons Community Center. For more information, please contact the Roots Historical Arts Council at 806 928-4268.
