Grand Jury Makes Charge in Baby Death

A Lubbock Grand Jury will decide if there's enough evidence to indict suspects in the death of 17-month-old Espiridion Garcia.

The baby stopped breathing in his East Lubbock County home back in March. His mother called 911, but Espiridion died the next day. The autopsy showed the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head. Authorities reported the death as suspicious, and as the investigation continued both of his care-takers became suspects in the death.

On Tuesday the toddler's mother Maria Vargas and her boyfriend Armando Lomas face injury to a child charges before a Lubbock Grand Jury.
