Lubbock Police were called to an East Lubbock home early Monday morning after reports of shots fired.
When officers arrived in the 2600 block of East Baylor just before 3am, officers witnessed a domestic disturbance through the door. They say 51-year-old Larry McKellar was striking a woman with a pistol. Officers attempted to go inside the house, and that's when McKellar fired his weapon. No one was hit.
McKellar was taken into police custody and charged with two counts of attempted capital murder, for firing in the direction of the two police officers. He is also charged with possession of marijuana.
Police say the victim refused treatment.
