Crisp County's Tyler shares thoughts about changes at UGA

CORDELE, GA (WALB) -
It was a bitter sweet ending for Cougars' star pitcher Robert Tyler who is committed to UGA if he says he doesn't get drafted in next month's Major League Baseball draft.

Tyler though will be under a new head coach other than the one that was there when he was recruited. David Perno was let go this weekend after the Dawgs finished 7-20 in the SEC this past season

But Tyler says he still plans to be a Dawg even though Perno is out and that he hopes whoever the new coach is will continue to bring in the talent that's going to spring the Dawgs back to the top of the SEC standings.

He says he has the utmost faith in the UGA staff though to turn things around.

"I don't think that they'll hire anybody that will be too awful but I'm going to go and do what I have to do and hopefully we'll get some wins. Even if I don't get to play I'll be happy to be apart of the team just anything will be fine with me," said Tyler. "I'm going to do my job and hopefully everybody will do their job. I'm not a hitter so hopefully they've done their recruiting and have got some good guys in so hopefully we'll make a turn for it I guess."

The 2013 MLB draft will be from June 6th to June 8th.
