Crews wasted no time packing up and heading to Oklahoma to assist with recovery efforts.
Tuesday morning, Xcel Energy sent a team of nearly 50 line and service personnel to Moore, OK to help restore power there. The company had already sent nearly 30 Amarillo-based personnel to the city on Sunday after the first storms hit over the weekend.
The newest team of workers are from Lubbock, Littlefield, El Paso and Hobbs. This isn't the first recovery effort for many of these workers: a large number of them helped out with Hurricane Sandy relief in 2012.
