Firehouse Subs program aiding relief efforts in OK

From Firehouse Subs:

Answering the call to help those affected by recent tornadoes in Oklahoma, Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation is providing food and life-saving equipment to survivors and first responders.

Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has already hit the ground in Moore, Oklahoma from their Tulsa and Norman locations, feeding first responders and survivors. The Foundation will also help fire, police and EMS in the affected areas with the opportunity to request life-saving equipment to enhance future rescue and recovery as well as replace any equipment lost in the disaster.

To support the Foundation's efforts in aiding residents and hometown heroes in need, participating restaurants nationwide are encouraged to ask guests to "round up" their bill to the nearest dollar. Throughout the month of June, all funds raised through the Round Up program will be used toward Oklahoma disaster relief.

Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation was established in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and continues to support disaster relief efforts since its inception in 2005.

ABOUT FIREHOUSE SUBS PUBLIC SAFETY FOUNDATION

In 2005, Firehouse Subs created the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation with the mission of providing funding, life-saving equipment, and educational opportunities to first-responders and public safety organizations. Through the non-profit 501(c)(3), Firehouse Subs has given $6.3 million to hometown heroes in 36 states and Puerto Rico, including $42,200 in Oklahoma.

LOCAL FUNDRAISING INITIATIVES

Each restaurant recycles leftover, five-gallon pickle buckets and sells them to guests for $2. Donation canisters on register counters explain the non-profit's mission and collect spare change, while the Round Up Program allows guests to "round up" their bill to the nearest dollar. All funds raised benefit the Foundation.
