Residents in Crosbyton will have to look for somewhere else to cool off this summer besides the city pool.
The Crosbyton City Council announced via their Facebook Page that they would not be opening the public pool over the summer.
The page states that the main reason for this decision are the current drought conditions. Crosbyton is in Stage 4 of the Drought Contingency Plan which prohibits the filling of swimming pools.
However, they say the pool is also in need of concrete and brick repairs that are expensive to fix.
They say the decision to open the pool will be revisited before next summer.
