Cooper Pirates baseball heads to State

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

The Cooper Pirates swept a Regional Final Doubleheader from Stephenville 8-1 and 11-0 to clinch a spot in the 3A State Tournament.

In game 1, Tyler Parr and Chandler Patterson hit home runs as cooper showed no jitters playing in their first Regional Final in 5 years. Future Red Raider Ryan Moseley pitched a complete game with 6 strikeouts.

With both schools holding graduation in next few days, the two teams opted to play 2 on Thursday. In the 2nd game, Scotland Church threw a no-hitter winning 11-0 as the Pirates head to State for the first time in 8 years.

Ranked 9th in the State in Class 3A, Cooper is the highest ranked team remaining as the Top 8 teams in Class 3A have all lost in the playoffs.
