Plainview natives, and cousins, Josh and Jordan Vera signed to play baseball at Wayland Baptist on Monday in the Hall of Honor at Hutcherson Center. Both were members of the Plainview High School team that finished second in their district, making it to the Bi-District playoffs.
Jordan pitched and played first base for the Bulldogs and was named the District 4-4A Co-MVP. He went 6-3 with a 1.91 ERA on the year while striking out 55 batters. Josh hit .404 on the year with 8 doubles, 6 triples and two home runs. He was named 1st team all-district as an outfielder.
The Veras join PHS teammate Skylar Wood, who signed with WBU last week, on the Pioneers' roster.
