Last week, KCBD launched the S.O.S. "Support our Sirens" campaign. It's our effort to rally the community behind public safety by bringing tornado sirens back to Lubbock.
Since we posted our online petition, thousands of you have signed it in support. For that, I thank you.
And we've also had a favorable response from some of the decision makers, the Lubbock City Council.
Consider this: if you are in favor of tornado sirens and you haven't signed our petition, it's available prominently at kcbd.com.
But again, to be successful, we have to convince a majority of the council to vote for them and find a way to pay for them inside their $650 million budget.
So in addition to signing our petition, an email will be forwarded from you to all the council members and you can add additional comments if you would like.
So let's rally and get this done for the safety of our community.
The petition is available here: http://bit.ly/10EFaaS.
