AUSTIN, TX (KCBD) -

The Cooper Pirates are on their way to Austin for the first time in eight years, hoping to bring home a State Title this week. The Pirates play Pleasant Grove Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Class 3A State Semifinals. If they win, the title game is Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

"It's just a game. It's all they need to know. We're hoping to have a big crowd out there and get it done," said Pirates Head Coach Terry Baxter.

Cooper is ranked 9th in the State with a 31-10 record, but they face the defending state champs in Pleasant Grove (27-13). The Hawks have been to State the last six years in a row, which includes two state championships in 2010 and 2012. During their six-year State span, Pleasant Grove lost to Snyder in the 2008 Title Game and beat Estacado in the 2010 State Semifinals.

Future Red Raider Ryan Moseley will be on the mound for the Pirates Wednesday, with Scotland Church ready for action as well.

KCBD NewsChannel 11 is in Austin and will have complete State Tournament Coverage starting Wednesday.
