From Lubbock Heart Hospital:
A line of thunderstorms inflicted partial roof damage to Lubbock Heart & Surgical Hospital on the evening of Wednesday, June 5, 2013.
At approximately 10:30 p.m., 82 mph wind gusts accompanied by hail and rain damaged a portion of the facility's roof. The damage was confined to one patient care unit, which allowed staff to safely and successfully move those patients to non-compromised areas of the hospital. There were no injuries.
LHSH did communicate to other regional facilities that the hospital would not be accepting patients to our Emergency Room while we assessed the situation and moved existing patients. The Emergency Room was removed from Diversion Status this morning at 10 a.m.
LHSH is conducting business as usual.
