SANTA MONICA, CA (RNN) - Three people are reportedly shot at a Santa Monica College in California. It is unclear the severity of the victims' injuries.

The gunman is in custody. Sgt. Denise Joslin of the California Highway Patrol told CNN police are looking for a second shooter.

Joslin said calls came into 911 about 11:55 a.m. PT.

Joslin said there were reports of a male adult was walking with a long gun, firing at cars and a bus.

The students on campus were preparing for finals.

The Los Angeles Times reports people were shot in a vehicle on or near campus.

Nearby Malibu schools are on lockdown as well.

President Barack Obama was at a fundraiser in Santa Monica for the Democratic National Committee. It is not clear if the shooting is related to his appearance.

Secret Service spokesman Max Millen said the agency is aware of the shooting and it's not affecting the President's visit, according to the Associated Press.
