Salvation Army helping with Oklahoma disaster relief

MOORE, OK (KCBD) -

Residents in Oklahoma are still picking up the pieces from the recent deadly tornadoes and flooding.

To help with the relief efforts, the Salvation Army in Lubbock is traveling to Oklahoma to lend a hand. The Lubbock Division is one of five Texas branches sending volunteers to help.

Justin Eatherly, the Community Relations Director for the Lubbock branch says two teams are going at two separate times. The first crew leaves Saturday morning at 7 a.m. and the second will relieve them in a week.

"We'll be providing food, hydration items, as well as emotional and spiritual guidance to anyone that is affected or survivors of tornadoes and flooding," he says.

Eatherly says the Salvation Army is still in need of monetary donations.
