Lubbock Senior Center to host Senior Prom

From City of Lubbock:

Put on your brightly colored Hawaiian shirts and dresses and join the Lubbock Senior Center as they host their annual Senior Prom on Thursday, June 13, 2013, from 6-9:30 p.m. This year's participants will enjoy a Hawaiian Luau and Dance! It will be a great night of fun and dancing to live music provided by the Country Company Band. There will be party favors, games, refreshments and drawings for door prizes! Cost is $8 per person.  Ages 40 and above are welcome! This City Parks and Recreation event is smoke and alcohol free!

Lubbock Senior Center is located at 2001 19th Street. Hours of operation are Mondays and Wednesdays-Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesdays from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  For more information, call Lubbock Senior Center at (806) 767-2710.

    The South Plains has been placed under a Fire Weather Warning valid from this afternoon at 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. this evening. Sustained winds at 20-30 mph, warm temperatures and low relative humidity values will create an elevated to critical fire weather risk for our area. A cold front will move through our area late tonight, shifting winds out of the north. Monday morning will be cool and breezy.
