LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

A Lubbock teen is recovering at the hospital after being missing for two days. The details of her disappearance are still unclear, but police issued a missing persons alert for 18-year old Brandy Flores on Tuesday afternoon.

Police say she was last seen at 3:30 early Monday morning in the 1000 block of Avenue Q, leaving her mother, Christina Torrez frantic and fearing the worst.

"I can't think right now. I don't know what to think. All I want is for her to come home. That's all," Torrez said.

Fortunately, this story has a happy ending. While KCBD was interviewing Torrez Tuesday evening, she got the call that her daughter was found. Just five minutes later, Brandy's brother brought her home.

Many families aren't so lucky. According to the FBI, there are more than 87,000 active missing persons records in the United States. 36 percent of those are under the age of 18.

Two of these cases are close to home. 30-year old Meagan Hembree was last seen on Feb. 26 at her home near Smyer and on Friday, it will be one year since 15-year old Mark Ysasaga was last seen in Lubbock. Two families, among thousands of others, who are still holding onto hope and believing they will receive a phone call, just as Torrez did, one day soon.

Lubbock police are still investigating where Brandy was before she was found. Her mother believes she was being held against her will.

If you have any information on Maegan Hembree's whereabouts, please contact the Hockley County Sheriff's Office at (806) 894-3126. If you have any information about Mark Ysasaga, contact Crime Line at (806) 741-1000.
