Do you listen to your cell phone with your left ear or with your right?

A new study says your brain makes that call. Up to 90% of the time, right handed people listen with their right ear and left handed people listen with their left ear.

It all may sound silly, but researchers say this finding could be important in guiding researchers looking for potential cancer risks.

"The other interesting question that we're now starting to look by looking at tumor registry banks is that if indeed 80 to 90% of the people are using their right ear for their cell phone use or other types of things up to their ear. The question becomes is this related to cancer," said Dr. Michael Seidman who is the study author.

Dr. Seidman says if there is a cancer link, researchers would expect far more people to be diagnosed with cancer on the right side of their brain, head and neck.

So, studies continue, although so far, no cancer link has been proven.
