A Texas Tech student is in serious condition after crashing into a brick wall. It happened just after midnight on Friday at Murdough Hall on the Tech campus at 13th and Flint.
Texas Tech police say another student saw the truck sitting near the curb and knocked on the window as the driver appeared to be slumped over the wheel. When there was no response, the student walked away to alert authorities. Once he did, the driver woke up and the truck moved into gear, jumped the curb and drove into a brick wall, next to the dorm.
21-year-old Michael Williams is being treated for serious injuries at University Medial Center. Tech police are investigating to see if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
