Going for a short walk after meals could lower the risk for Type 2 diabetes.

A study at George Washington University finds walking after meals can stop blood sugar levels from raising too high, a common problem in older adults. And they found walking after dinner is when you get the best results, lowering your blood sugar before you lay down and sleep all night.

So, researchers say it's important to fight the urge to take a nap after a big meal. Instead, taking a quick walk could go a long way to improving your health.
