LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -
Lubbock police caught a man they say is responsible for several recent commercial burglaries on Friday.
Early Friday morning, officers arrested Kenneth Ray Devroe, 45, and his accomplice after their attempt to burglarize a Lubbock Valero.
Police responded to a burglary in progress call at the Valero at Spur 327 and Frankford around 12:20 a.m.
When officers arrived, Devroe and passenger Charleszetta Germon attempted to flee the scene in their vehicle. When officers tried to pull them over, Devroe fled on foot while Germon fled in the vehicle.
Devroe was caught and, after a struggle, was arrested in the east alley of Everette, south of Spur 327.
After a brief chase, Germon was arrested in the 4300 block of S. Loop 289.
Devroe was in possession of a large amount of stolen cigarettes and other tobacco products.
He is charged with four state jail felony warrants, assault on a peace officer, tampering with evidence, burglary, evading and resisting arrest, theft and criminal mischief.
Germon is charged with burglary, evading arrest, escape and criminal instruction.
