New Deal dedicates new fire station

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

The city of New Deal dedicated their new fire and EMS station on Saturday.

Around a hundred people gathered to celebrate the new facility.

The Lubbock Fire Department's pipe and drum unit were on hand to provide music for the festivities.

This has been a seven-year project for New Deal's Volunteer Fire Department, and all they did it all themselves.

Fire Chief Randy Teeter says it was well worth the work and the wait.

"When it was all said and done, we came out with a great project, a great ending to it, and then just a great dedication today," Teeter said.

New Deal's Volunteer Fire Department has 26 members and 6 juniors.

The new station is located at 105 East Main Street.
