A pedestrian was seriously injured Sunday morning when he was struck by a vehicle while walking down East 4th Street.
Police say Jesse Ramirez, Jr., 22, was heading east down the middle of the lane at 2200 East 4th Street around 2:23 a.m. Sunday when Tara Annese Johnson, 42, came up behind him in a Nissan Titan.
Johnson told police she thought Ramirez was headed toward the south curb, so she tried to pass him on the left.
Ramirez then moved to the left and was struck by the vehicle. He was taken to UMC with serious injuries.
