Beginning Monday, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is scheduled to make traffic changes on both the Marsha Sharp Freeway (US 62/82) and Spur 327, at Milwaukee Avenue, as work continues on Phase 5A of the Marsha Sharp Freeway (MSF).
Eastbound US 62 (MSF) traffic will be reduced to one-lane as motorists approach the MSF/Spur 327 split. At Milwaukee Avenue, traffic will be shifted onto a 1-left turn lane, 1-pass thru lane and 1-right turn lane configuration.
Westbound MSF traffic will be reduced into two lanes as motorists approach Milwaukee Avenue. At Milwaukee, traffic will also be reduced/shifted into the 1-left turn lane, 1- thru lane and 1-pass thru/right turn lane configuration.
On Spur 327, eastbound traffic will be reduced to one-lane beginning at the MSF/Spur 327 split, to Norwich Avenue. No traffic changes will be made to the Milwaukee Avenue intersection at Spur 327, but traffic east of Milwaukee will also be reduced to one-lane.
Westbound Spur 327 will also be reduced to one-lane west of Milwaukee.
The lane closures are part of a $22.4 million project that will build the MSF (US 62/82) and Spur 327 interchanges, add entrance and exit ramps at Spur 327 and MSF, complete the Spur 327 main lanes to just west of the new interchange and make improvements to Milwaukee Avenue.
The project is scheduled to be completed in mid - 2015.
