Police Need Help for Leads in Fatal Hit and Run

The Lubbock Police Department is looking for some answers in a fatal hit and run. Witnesses say 79 year-old Benny Vasquez was walking across the street at East 2nd St. and Beach Avenue around 10:15 p.m. Friday night.

That's when he was struck by a dark colored car that drove off. Vasquez was taken to University Medical Center with critical head trauma and died.

Police are looking for a late model four-door dark blue car with tinted windows there may also be damage on the right side of the vehicle. If you have any information about this accident police urge you to please call Crime Line at (806) 741-1000.
