Thanks to the generosity of hundreds of people on the South Plains, the 8th Annual Labor of Love Blood Drive was a huge success. The drive by United Blood Services and KMMX will help alleviate a possible shortage over the Labor Day holiday.
More than 800 people throughout the area donated this week. And for one donor we spoke with, it's her way of helping those in need.
"I give blood because I can't afford to donate money because I'm a grad student, but I can afford to donate some time and sit here and give blood and my blood will help other people," says Shannon Torrence.
Blood is always needed, just call United Blood Services to make an appointment at (806) 741-1752 or just stop by 48th St. and University.
