Lubbock to host Texas firefighters convention

The City of Lubbock welcomes over 173 local Texas chapters of professional firefighters, their families, retirees and auxiliary members from all over the state of Texas June 17-21.

The 43rd Biennial Texas State Association of Firefighters (TSAFF) convention is hosted by the Local 972 Lubbock Professional Firefighters Association, the Lubbock Fire Department and the City of Lubbock. Opening ceremonies will be at 9 a.m. in the Sunset Ballroom of the Overton Hotel and Convention Center. Special guests Senator Robert Duncan, Mayor Glen Robertson, Fire Chief Mike Kemp along with the Lubbock Fire Department Honor Guard will greet those in attendance.

This convention is held every two years to decide goals and objectives and to elect officers of the TSAFF for the next two years. In addition to meetings, attendees will be able to enjoy several attractions such as the Rawls Texas Tech Golf Course, a motorcycle tour and other local attractions.
