NASA science leads to allergy-fighting breakthrough

Posted: Updated:

NASA technology is behind a new air purifier said to help get rid of airborne pathogens that cause allergies.

The technology is called "airocide." It's FDA approved and it's getting a lot of buzz because it zaps pet dander, bacteria, mold and other pathogens on contact. Better yet, there's no filter to clean or panel to wipe.

But this new allergy fighter will come with a hefty price tag, about $800.
