We already know that mothers who smoke while pregnant are putting their children at risk of low birth weight, asthma, and some behavior trouble.
Now, new evidence adds another risk…hearing loss. The study of nearly 1,000 teens finds that 16% of children who were exposed to tobacco before birth are born with some hearing loss, especially in one ear.
The study comes from New York University School of Medicine.
