Lubbock County Commissioners Court, Lubbock County Sheriff's Office and the Lubbock County Office of Emergency Management would like to remind Lubbock County Citizens of the rules governing outdoor burning in Texas.
People in Lubbock County are responsible for obeying all applicable laws and restrictions relating to outdoor burning within the county. This includes all Texas Commission on Environmental Quality regulations and all Municipal burn bans and firework bans. In addition, anyone who causes or is responsible for a fire which gets out of control and causes damage, injury, or death could face civil and criminal liability.

In addition, Lubbock County residents are permitted to buy and use most kinds of fireworks this 4th of July fireworks season, although fireworks described as "skyrockets with sticks" and "missiles with fins" are still prohibited from sale or use.
