TEXARKANA, TX (KSLA) -

An ArkLaTex restaurant is holding two fundraisers Monday to benefit an East Texas officer's family after he was killed in the line of duty.

Texas Roadhouse hosted a free lunch and eating challenge to raise money for Texarkana, Texas Police Officer William Sprague Monday morning. All of the food and even the employee's time was donated. The restaurant is not normally open for lunch.

Sprague died Saturday, June 15th as a result of his injuries after he was hit by a vehicle on Friday, June 14th while responding to a disturbance.

A dinnertime fundraiser is also planned at Texas Roadhouse for Monday night. The restaurant is located at 4002 St. Michael Drive in Texarkana, Texas. That gets under way at 6 p.m. Local police officers will head to the rib-eating arena for an eating challenge.

The restaurant will donate 10% of all dinner sales to the Sprague family.
