Temperatures hit 107 degrees in Lubbock

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

The thermometer hit 107 degrees on Wednesday afternoon. Our record for today is 112 and it will hopefully stay the record for this day.

As evening approaches, we may get a shower or two in the eastern South Plains with some gusty winds and lightning. Otherwise, it should be mild overnight with another low in the mid 70s.

Hot again on Thursday with high of 104, which again, is not a record. We may have another chance of isolated thunderstorms on Thursday evening.

There will be a slight cool down as we move into Friday with a chance of some late evening or overnight storms.
