Workforce Solutions providing job resources for Cargill employees

Workforce Solutions South Plains will be offering an informational session to assist former Cargill workers navigate the resources available to prepare for and find new jobs. The session takes place July 11 at the Ollie Line Center, 2000 S. Columbia St. in Plainview. Registration will begin when the doors open at 9:30 a.m. and the session will start at 10 a.m.

Although details about the actual disbursement of the emergency grant have not been released by the U.S. Department of Labor, Workforce Solutions CEO Martin Aguirre said, "We are holding this session to offer information to Cargill workers affected by the closure of the plant in order to be best prepared to move forward to provide re-employment services and to answer questions."

Aguirre also said he is urging all former Cargill employees to go by the New Opportunities Center located at 1001 N. IH-27, Ste. 224 in Plainview, to register for work.in.texas.com if they have not done so; or to go by and updated their information if they are already registered; or to call the center at (806) 293-8566.
