US 84 lane closures part of Slide Road extension project

Provided by TxDOT

WHAT: Various US 84 lane closures

WHEN: Beginning Monday, July 8

WHERE: US 84, between North Frankford Avenue and North Quaker Avenue

EVENT: Beginning Monday, July 8, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will reduce an area of eastbound and westbound US 84, between north Frankford and Quaker Avenues, to one lane of traffic in each direction as work on a $5.4 million project to extend Slide Road to US 84 continues.

The inside-lane closures will allow crews to construct a new crossover on US 84 at the future Slide Road location and are expected to remain in place through July. Other crossovers along the work area will also be closed to traffic during construction.

Motorists should expect delays and are asked to drive with caution through the work zone for their safety and the safety of the workers.

The project will add 1.4 miles of Slide Road to the city of Lubbock's transportation system.
