Prenatal discoveries how they can affect a child's hearing

There is a new concern about smoking during pregnancy; those babies are 3 times more likely to experience some hearing loss.

This data comes from the New York School of Medicine after studying nearly 1,000 children, including more than 150 whose mothers smoked at least during the first trimester.

Researchers decided that even brief exposure to smoke early in a pregnancy can have a negative effect on the baby.
