LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Similar to the past several days, Saturday will be a scorcher.

High temperatures could hit the century mark during the afternoon.

While not record-breaking, this amount of heat needs to be taken seriously. Be sure to drink plenty of water, wear sunscreen, and try not to plan outdoor activities during the hottest time of the day.

However, some big changes could be in store for Sunday.

A rather unusual weather pattern could develop by late in the weekend, leading to much cooler temperatures and beneficial rainfall.

This is just a forecast, and things could change. But, for the time being, it appears West Texans may experience a break from the summer heat, as early as Sunday afternoon.
