Lee Co., DWS to play Madison Stokes Memorial Game Saturday

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Lee County and Deerfield-Windsor girls' soccer teams will play the first ever Madison
Stokes Memorial Soccer Game Saturday.

Stokes was a 16 year old Lee County player who was killed in a tractor-trailer accident last August.

Now her friends and teammates will play in her honor.

It will be the first time the Lady Trojans and Lady Knights will play, but this game is more than about wins and losses.

All proceeds from the game will go to the Honduran foster home Stokes served at on her final mission trip before her death.

The event is from 6-9 p.m. with kickoff set for 7:30 at Darton State's soccer fields.
