The tradition continues: more Moss Farms Divers to nationals

MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) -

Some of the best divers in the state of Georgia belong to the Moss Farms team in Moultrie.

When Moose Moss started the Moss Farms Diving Tigers, he established a tradition of excellence that continues to this day.

Several Tigers were in action today at the USA Diving Junior Zone D Championships in Moultrie.

Teams from all over came to South Georgia to compete for a chance to head to Minneapolis for the Junior Olympic national championships.

As usual, a few Tigers will be making the trip.

Abi White and Timothy Fagan both qualified for the Junior Olympics.

White will dive in the 11-under girls' 1m dive, while Fagan qualified in the 11U boys' 1m and 3m dives.

White will be making her second nationals appearance, and says she already has her Junior Olympic goals in mind.

"To do better than I did last time, a lot better," she says. "Make finals."

Moss Farms Diving head coach Ed Goodman says he's excited how about many of his young divers competed in the zone championships, which was the first big meet for  many of them.

"I've got a group of at least five or six kids,  this is their first time around. They had never been to a regional meet. This is their first zone meet ever," says Goodman. "They're under 10 years old, most of them. They're going into this with eyes wide open and watching everybody else. So it would be a thrill. They're all hoping to make that next trip up to Minnesota."
