ROPESVILLE, TX (KCBD) -

A 2-year-old Ropesville boy died at UMC Friday night after a drowning accident at his family pool.

The Hockley County Sheriffs responded to the intersection of Marsha Sharp and Parrot Drive around 8:40 p.m.

They say the family was hosting a pool party in an above-ground pool. Police say the adults called all of the kids out of the pool and into the house but didn't realize 2-year-old Cotton Lee Gregg had gone back outside and climbed back in the pool.

Deputies say the boy's father, Jordan Gregg called and said his son wasn't breathing. EMS workers said the child was alive when he was transported, but UMC representatives tell us he died around 9:30 p.m.

Cotton's family has made funeral arrangements for their son. A gathering will take place on Tuesday, July 16 from 6-8 p.m. at the Lake Ridge Chapel located at 6025 82nd Street in Lubbock. Wednesday, July 17, family and friends will celebrate Cotton's life from 10-11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Ropesville.
