A new test for diagnosing could help parents of children with ADHD

Posted: Updated:

A new brain wave test has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration to help diagnose cases of ADHD.

According to experts, children with ADHD often have a certain type of brain wave. The brain wave test involves attaching sensors to a child's head and using an EEG to measure those brain waves.

This new device is called a ‘Neuro-Psychiatric EEG-Based Assessment Aid'.

What the name means is that the test is actually used in combination with other diagnostic tools.

Experts also say that hopefully this test will help parents when diagnosing children.
