Blitz Build Begins

Helping hands are making dreams become a reality in Lubbock this week. Habitat for Humanity's "Blitz Build" began this weekend.

Crews of men and women volunteer their time and muscle to help build brand new houses for Lubbock families. Volunteer builders say all that hammering is worth it to help someone in need.

"It really makes it worthwhile because we help other families, and I'm also a Habitat home buyer myself, so I know how they feel and how exciting it is. I mean, it's already a great feeling for us," says Bertha Lara, volunteer.

If you'd like to know more about Habitat for Humanity, or perhaps you'd like to volunteer, you can call (806) 763-4663.
