South Plains Balloon Roundup Takes Flight in Wolfforth

About 3,000 people headed to Wolfforth on Saturday for the South Plains Balloon Roundup. At least 23 hot air balloons were expected to launch near Frenship Tiger Stadium on Saturday, but unfortunately, those West Texas winds kept some of them down. However, fans were not disappointed, since many balloon enthusiasts got to get close to the action.

"It's a real family oriented sport. It's something that the whole family can come out and get involved in. They can just sit back and watch or they can get up close and talk to the pilots and watch them inflate," says Tony Poteet, Southwest Regional Balloon Club.

The Southwest Regional Balloon Club is already firing up for next year's balloon roundup.
