Lubbock residents honor Trayvon Martin at Butler Park

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

A group of Lubbock residents gathered in Butler Park to release balloons in honor of Trayvon Martin on Saturday afternoon.

One of the participants, Margie Lazano, lost one of her own loved ones to violence when her cousin was shot to death.

Lozano tells us that although Martin and her cousin might not have looked like the perfect people, their shooting was still a senseless act that no one should ever face.

The balloons were released at 7:16 p.m., representing the exact time Trayvon was shot and killed by George Zimmerman.
