Brownfield home to famous historical painting

Brownfield is also home to this historical mural that is displayed inside of the current police department.

It's called "Ranchers of the Panhandle Fighting Prairie Fire with Skinned Steer."

It was painted by Colorado artist Frank Machau in 1940.

An historical marker is placed outside of the police department, letting people know the history of the oil canvas.

The painting attracts visitors from all across the country.
